Transfer exclusive rights of burial

What is a transfer of Exclusive Rights of Burial?

The legal owner of a grave holds what is known as the 'Exclusive Rights of Burial'. If you are the registered owner, you have the right to be buried in the grave. You can also allow others to be buried in the grave by adding their names to your rights.

You can transfer ownership at any time. This process can take up to one month to transfer ownership from a living owner. Otherwise it can take up to six months.

Ownership can be transferred to anyone. However, if they live outside the Borough this will be subject to non-Borough resident fees.

You can see the Borough of Broxbourne cemetery conditions and fees here.
