Active Broxbourne and East Herts club together during COVID-19 pandemic

Free club webinars launch to help sports organisation through COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Active Broxbourne and Active East Herts have teamed up to offer five free daily webinars to local community sports clubs.

As the world faces a global health crisis, the sport and leisure industries are stepping up and demonstrating how exercise is a crucial force of good under difficult circumstances. Sports clubs and leisure organisations are working on individual and collective actions to reduce the impact that COVID-19 is having on activity levels, memberships and mental health.

In partnership with Sports Marketing Network, Funding4Sport and GOVOX, Active Broxbourne have created a series of webinars which uses the best examples and innovations from across the UK, allowing sports clubs to adapt swiftly and learn from each other during these unprecedented times. There will also be support on funding streams available and how to become more vibrant, visible and viable after the pandemic is over.

If members of the public are interested in joining one of these free webinars, please visit this link to register. The registration deadline is Sunday 26 April. The webinars are as follows:

  • Monday 27 April 6.30–7.15pm. How do we respond now, with clubs, facilities and centres closing down and events and classes, matches and festivals being cancelled?
  • Tuesday 28 April 6.30–7.15pm. How do we prepare for life afterwards? How do we get people back? How will people’s habits change and how can you respond?
  • Wednesday 29 April 6.30–7.15pm. What funding support is out there to get us back on track?
  • Thursday 30 April 6.30–7.15pm. What is our new ‘normal’ going to look like?
  • Friday 1 May 6.30–7.15.pm. How can Clubs support mental health in this time of need?
