The Youth Council Elections were held on Wednesday 9 October 2024 for the role of Broxbourne’s Youth Mayor for the 2024-25 academic year.
Members of the Broxbourne Youth Council were joined by members of the Broxbourne SEND Youth Council to vote for the Youth Mayor, Deputy Youth Mayor, Recruitment Officer and Environmental Officer.
Havana Marshall, a Year 12 student at Broxbourne School, was elected as Youth Mayor and had been Deputy Youth Mayor since October 2023. Her priorities as Youth Mayor are to grow the membership, to ensure that it is representative of Broxbourne’s young people and to provide more opportunities for young people. Havana is the Borough’s seventh Youth Mayor, succeeding Adesola Jinadu-Adewale who is now at university.
Kaitlin Hussey, a college student at Enfield College but resident in the Borough, was elected as Deputy Youth Mayor.
Tej Nundah, a year 9 student at Goffs Academy was elected as the Youth Council’s Recruitment Officer. Sidney Twun was elected to be the Youth Council’s Environmental Officer. Sidney is a sixth form student at Goffs Academy.

The Youth Mayor is a young person aged 11-18 who is elected by young people to represent young people. The Youth Mayor will contribute to discussions impacting on young people and raising issues where appropriate. The Youth Mayor will also chair the Broxbourne Youth Council which is open to all young people aged 11-18 who live or study in the Borough of Broxbourne. The Youth Mayor and the Youth Council are politically neutral.
