Google Jobs Fair

Broxbourne Council, in partnership with Google and the Waltham Cross Job Centre, has organised a jobs fair to promote the opportunities available at the Google data centre when it has been completed.

This event will take place on Thursday 17 October, 10am-2pm, at the Theobalds Enterprise Centre in Cheshunt.

With up to 100 jobs available, this is a fantastic opportunity for local residents to find out more about the vacancies available at the site.

Vacancies include opportunities in construction, security and jobs inside the data centre.

Employers present on the day will be:

  • Alandale Logistics, Alandale Plant & Scaffolding and Dornan Engineering - construction
  • Synergy Prestige - security
  • Google – data centre roles
  • HOP – Hertfordshire Opportunities Portal
  • JCA Engineering

Local support partners will also be attending to provide residents with information on skills, training, apprenticeships and more. Partners include Hertford Regional College, Learn Trade Skills, Step2Skills and SmartWorks.

Councillor Steve Wortley, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Regeneration said

I am delighted that Broxbourne and Google have teamed up to put on this event today. This fair will help to ensure the wider socio-economic benefits are realised by linking up local residents to the job vacancies on offer here today from Google and associated companies. This event sets a precedence for how we should promote job opportunities linked to major developments in the future.

Free digital skills training will be offered from Google Digital Garage, providing an opportunity to learn valuable skills from expert trainers. Two impactful sessions on the day designed to help local people thrive in the digital world:

Boost your productivity with AI: 11am – 12noon
Cyber Security: For you and your business: 12noon – 1pm

This event is free to attend and there is no need to book.
