Newly Improved Waltham Cross Playing Fields to Launch with Fun and Free Activities for All to Enjoy!

On Saturday 20 July 2024, the Council will host a free launch event to celebrate the recent improvements to Waltham Cross Playing Fields.

The new facilities include a brand-new skate park from Maverick skateparks, an interactive rebound wall and a DJing booth from Jupiter Leisure and Play, and state-of-the-art outdoor gym equipment.

The event, which will run from 11am-5pm, will officially give access to all outdoor areas within the playing field, allowing residents to try out the new equipment, including basketball activities held on the multi-use games area. On the day, there will also be a ‘Come and Try' activity area in celebration of 12 years since the Borough hosted the 2012 Olympics.

Among the many free and fun taster sports activities, visitors will be able to enhoy music entertainment by a professional DJ, bouncy castle, wall climbing and face painting. There will also be healthy food options on offer.

The improvements have been funded by the Governments Levelling Up Fund which was awarded to Broxbourne Borough Council last year.
