Broxbourne Council took part in this year’s Great Big Green Week, a celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.
The week-long event, held from 8 June to 16 June, featured an exciting line-up of 17 events organised by various community, faith, and charity groups across the Borough.
The programme included activities such as allotment open-days, community litter picking, wellbeing walks, upcycling activities, a swap shop and a plant-based lunch. Residents and Council staff also had the chance to take part through the Isabel Hospice Tonnes of Care campaign, dropping unwanted clothing, books and other articles with the charity’s mobile collection team which will contribute to the provision of hospice care.
The Council complemented also provided free Dr Bike cycle maintenance sessions to help residents get their bikes ready for the summer.
The overall programme aimed to raise awareness about climate change, promote sustainable practices, and encourage the community to take action towards a greener future.
