Broxbourne Borough Council has been shortlisted in all four categories of the VISA ‘Let’s Celebrate Towns’ awards for the work it is doing in Waltham Cross town centre.
The award, run by VISA and supported by the British Retail Consortium, is a nationwide showcase, celebrating the hundreds of towns across the UK that are helping businesses and communities to thrive.
The Council has been shortlisted in four categories: Business Environment; Infrastructure, People and skills and Sustainability.
The winner of each category will receive £15,000 to put towards a community project or initiative, as well as helping to connect small businesses in the Borough to experts who will give advice and support.
The Leader of The Council, Councillor Lewis Cocking said:
Winning a ‘Let’s Celebrate Towns’ award would be wonderful news for the Waltham Cross community.
It would bring attention to the many exciting projects in Waltham Cross that are helping to serve different community groups’ needs, opening up new opportunities for businesses as well as ensuring sustainability is at the heart of the area’s development.
The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 13 March 2024.
