The Council is pleased to announce that a new Barclays Local service has opened at the Spotlight, High Street, Hoddesdon with effect from 8 January 2024.
The new Barclays Local service will be open Monday-Friday, 10am-12.30pm and 1-4.30pm. Barclays staff will be on-hand to provide face-to-face support for Barclays customers with a wide range of services include digital banking, financial reviews, balance checks, transfers and bill payments.
Barclays Local is a cashless site so cash banking transactions will continue to be completed at a local Post Office.
Councillor Lewis Cocking, Leader of Broxbourne Council said:
“The Council is keen to ensure that banking services remain accessible to residents of the Borough and I am delighted that Barclays has chosen to work with us at the Spotlight to ensure that this is the case for its customers.
“A local presence is really important for all High Street Banks; not all members of the community are able to access the digital services offered. I urge all banks to consider setting up a similar service in places they do not have a physical presence.
“Although Barclays Local is currently cashless, I will continue to campaign for cash services that are accessible to all.”
A Barclays spokesperson said: “We are pleased to open a Barclays Local here in Hoddesdon, working with Broxbourne Council at the Spotlight to offer a new, more flexible way for our colleagues to continue to support customers with their banking needs.”
The Barclays Local service is a walk-in facility, but customers can make an appointment in advance. To book an appointment visit https://events.uk.barclays/local/
