Fit and Fed, a national programme that combines free physical activities with healthy food choices, is returning to Broxbourne during the October half term holidays.
From Monday 23 October, Broxbourne Borough Council will be delivering healthy, balanced meals and drinks alongside sport and physical activity, under the Street Games Fit and Fed brand. The programme will take place at Isabella House Nursery, Longcroft Drive, Waltham Cross, EN8 7PZ, from Monday 23 October to Thursday 26 October, between 9am and 12.30pm.
The programme is open to children and young people aged 8-16 years in receipt of free school meals or for families feeling the pinch. It aims to tackle the triple inequalities of holiday hunger, physical inactivity and social isolation.
The free activity sessions will provide young people with a free nutritious lunch and give participants the opportunity to take part in enriching games and a range of Halloween themed activities including pumpkin carving, arts and crafts, nerf wars, football, dodgeball, tennis, rounder and plenty of playground games.
To book your child onto the programme, please contact the Council’s Community Development Team by emailing community@broxbourne.gov.uk or calling 01992 785555, extension 1519.
