Waltham Cross town centre will become the stage for a diverse range of free summer events and activities for families across the Borough to enjoy.
The first event took place on Saturday 1 July, and this will be followed by more Summer of Fun events every Saturday until 30 September between 11am and 3pm in the Queen Eleanor Square.
Scheduled events will include face painting, circus workshops, balloon making and magic shows. In addition to this, and after popular demand following great success in June, the outdoor cinema will also be making a return to Waltham Cross Town centre with family favourites for all to enjoy free of charge on Tuesday 22 August.
Other events outside of the Summer of Fun Programme will add to the joyous community environment with a Classic Car Day Display on 5 August, a Cycle Ride event on 28 August, Celebrating Our Community festival on 1 October, Half Term Fun Fair between 21-24 October and a pop-up pumpkin patch on 26 October in time for Halloween Festivities.
A series of community events including outdoor cinema on 15 August, Rock Around the Clock on 20 August as well as a Food and Drink Fest on 16 September will also be hosted in Hoddesdon Town Centre this summer.
Councillor Siobhan Monaghan, Cabinet for Housing Community said: “There is no better opportunity to kick-start a host of fun and engaging community events now that summer is here. The past few months have also been very busy with community celebrations not just on a local but national level too, so after the success of recent events that brought people together it is important that we keep the momentum going, further enriching the lives of our local residents and local culture.”
Further community events leading up to the end of the year are already in the pipeline to take place in key spots around the Borough.
