Improvement works at Grundy Park have now started

The Council has announced that planned improvement works for Grundy Park have officially began.

The project, which is expected to complete by end of summer 2023, will bring to life several enhancements to make the park more enjoyable for visitors while conserving the area’s historic environment.

The key improvement features include a grand entrance gate and public space at Turner’s Hill designed to create a stronger visual connection with the iconic Old Pond. The park will also feature an elegant cherry tree walk which will connect its entrance with an Edwardian style sitting area at the centre of a landscaped garden complemented by colourful flowerbeds.

The sporting facilities at the park will be upgraded with improved Astroturf pitches and Basketball courts as well as an improved play area for the younger members of the community.

Leader of Broxbourne Borough Council, Councillor Lewis Cocking said: “These improvements will truly put the heart back into Cheshunt and the Old Pond, and most excitingly, this is only one of the many improvement projects the Council will be working on to enrich this area over the next few years”.

The Grundy Park entrance on Turner's Hill will remain closed until the completion of the works, however you can still gain access to the park through the Laura Trott Leisure Centre car park.
