Broxbourne in Bloom is returning as part of the celebrations for HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. The competition is open to Borough residents, businesses, schools and community groups.
The theme of this year’s competition aims to encourage everyone to contribute to the environment, to encourage community spirit, and maintain a sense of pride in their surroundings.
The entry requirements are simple – all entries must be on public view in the Borough of Broxbourne and must be live plant material with no artificial enhancements. There are three categories for the 2022 competition:
- Best Front Gardens - this is open to all those bringing colour and creativity to the Borough. This category is for front gardens only
- Best Containers - this allows all residents and businesses without gardens to take part in the special Jubilee edition of Broxbourne in Bloom, such as residents living in flats. Containers includes hanging baskets
- Environmentally Friendly – entries within this category must champion environmental sustainability
Broxbourne residents can enter any, or all, of the categories. The closing date for entries is Monday 4 July 2022.
Councillor Lewis Cocking, leader of Broxbourne Council, said:
“It will be fantastic to see the Borough at its most bright and colourful for HM the Queen’s Jubilee. There will be prizes for the top entry in each category, but the main reason we want people to take part is to really make Broxbourne look its best for this historic occasion. Every effort counts; even a small hanging basket can brighten up a dull corner.”
