At last night’s annual Council meeting, Councillor Paul Seeby was appointed as the new Mayor of Broxbourne for the municipal year 2022/23.
At the same meeting, Councillor Sherrie McDaid was chosen as the new Deputy Mayor.
After signing the declaration, Councillor Seeby said:
“I am honoured to have been appointed as the new Mayor of Broxbourne. I am looking forward to the year ahead representing residents and businesses across the Borough. We have so many exciting events coming up, including the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, and I hope to meet many of the people of Broxbourne soon.”
In addition, the Leader of the Council, Councillor Lewis Cocking, announced that the membership the Cabinet will remain unchanged for 2022/23. The appointed Cabinet members are:
- Councillor Lewis Cocking, Leader of the Council
- Councillor David Holliday, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for the Environment
- Councillor Paul Mason, Cabinet Member for Finance
- Councillor Siobhan Monaghan, Cabinet Member for Housing and Community
- Councillor Tony Siracusa, Cabinet Member for Planning
- Councillor Dee Hart, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Health
- Councillor Steve Wortley, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth
The chairmen of the Council’s committees remain unchanged for 2022/23 with the exception of the Audit and Standards Committee where the outgoing Mayor, Councillor David Taylor, takes up the position. Meanwhile, Councillor Gordon Nicholson is the new chairman of the Environmental Sustainability Panel.
