Broxbourne Council has received yet more plaudits for its award-winning transformation project thanks to the Digital Technology Leaders Awards (DTLA).
Last week the Council, along with digital services partner Sopra Steria, received a Highly Commended for its One Broxbourne project, which has seen a complete remodelling of the way customers access its services.
The latest prize for Broxbourne’s transformation came in the Best Public Sector Project category, and follows a silver at the coveted iESE awards last month.
Over the past three years, One Broxbourne’s work has seen the Council partner with Sopra Steria to deliver a digital transformation programme which has seen the Council fundamentally change the way it interacts with its customers, including a new website and reception refurbishment.
When announcing the finalists, DLTA said:
“Citizens expect a first-class digital experience when engaging with public sector organisations. This award celebrates the public sector organisations providing just that with slick, innovative offerings that are easy to use and get the job done.”
Projects were judged on three criteria; nature of the project and problem it tackled, benefits to citizens and public uptake, and benefits to the organisation including simplifying processing times and reducing errors.
The success of the One Broxbourne programme can be clearly measured in the number of people using the new services. This includes:
- 69% of customers taking up the digital offerings
- An increase of 117% of over 65s now self-serving online
- 48% reduction in calls to the Council
- 38% reduction in the transferring of calls, meaning customers are getting the right answers first time
Councillor David Holliday, Cabinet Member for the Environment and Transformation, said:
“We are very proud of One Broxbourne, and very grateful for the Digital Technology Leaders Awards for their commendation.
“At the start of the transformation project, we set out to provide easier, faster and more efficient services for our Borough’s residents. The team has worked very hard over the past three years to achieve this, and I congratulate them for their achievements.”
