Broxbourne’s residents are encouraged to make full use of the fortnightly kerbside recycling service
Broxbourne Council's fortnightly kerbside recycling service can be used to recycle glass; paper and cardboard; plastic bottles, tubs, pots and trays and cans. Non-recyclable domestic waste should be placed in the black wheeled bin which is also collected fortnightly. Food waste should be placed in the brown caddy for weekly collection.
Residents of the Borough can request up to two additional kerbside boxes, free of charge, which will be delivered by emailing enquiry@broxbourne.gov.uk.
Residents are reminded that plastic carrier bags, bubble wrap and outer plastic wrapping cannot be recycled in their kerbside collection boxes nor at any of the Borough’s Recycling Points. This material contaminates the recycling which can result in it being rejected by the processors. Kerbside bins containing this kind of material will not be collected during the fortnightly collections.
The Council’s waste management team will have a stand at the Waltham Cross market on 14 May from 10am until 2pm to talk to residents about the recycling services available within the Borough.
Cllr David Holliday, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: “All residents in the Borough have a responsibility to recycle right and help to keep Broxbourne beautiful. This begins with a good understanding of what can and cannot be recycled, and I urge residents to check the A-Z of recycling on the Council’s website for clarity.”
Residents can report missed bin collections and incidents of fly-tipping online by visiting www.broxbourne.gov.uk/report or by calling the Council’s Helpline on 01992 785577.
All households in the Borough will shortly receive a leaflet detailing the recycling services available in Broxbourne and the A-Z of recycling can be found at www.broxbourne.gov.uk/recycling.
