Trust to host two virtual public meetings to update on its plans for the new Princess Alexandra Hospital

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is building a new hospital to care for future generations - and it wants to hear what the general public has to say.

Two evening meetings will be held in January and February, where staff from the Trust will share their vision for the new hospital and provide an update on the progress so far.

Senior hospital staff and clinicians will present their vision for the new hospital, followed by a discussion with the project architects to hear what the public would like to see in the hospital welcome area and public-facing spaces.

The two meetings will take place on:

Thursday 21 January                 6.30-8.00pm

Thursday 4 February                  6.30-8.00pm

These are virtual events and will be hosted live on Microsoft Teams. Members of the public can register to attend the free events on Eventbrite using this link. The public can also keep up to date with the hospital’s progress here and receive regular email updates by signing up here.

Cllr Siobhan Monaghan, Cabinet Member for Housing and Community Services, said: “The progression of the new hospital is fantastic news. I encourage residents and members of the public to attend these virtual meetings to provide the Trust with the voice of Broxbourne to help make this hospital a valuable part of our community for future generations.”

Lance McCarthy, chief executive of The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust said: “I’m delighted with the huge progress we’ve made in planning our new hospital. We now need residents to tell us how our public-facing areas and facilities in the new hospital can work better. Please come along to one of our meetings and have your say. You will be playing a really important part in helping us build a hospital for the future, together.”
