Allocation Policy 2025
The Council is updating the rules about how social housing in the Borough is allocated and who can join the Housing Register. These rules are set out in the Housing Allocations Policy.
In September 2024, the Council carried out a public consultation, inviting applicants on the Housing Register, and the general public to share their views on the proposed changes to the Policy.
Thank you to everyone that responded. These responses were taken into consideration. The new Policy has now been approved by Councillors and will be implemented during 2025.
Everyone on the current Housing Register will be notified about when this new Policy will be in place and how it will affect their Housing Register application.
The Council is not able to explain how this new policy will affect individual applications until it is in place.
