Annual accounts

The Council publishes annual accounts to tell local residents and taxpayers how their money is spent.

The accounts show:

  • The cost of services provided by the Council
  • How services were paid for
  • The Council’s assets and liabilities at the end of each financial year, which runs to 31 March

Each year’s accounts must be published by 31 July.

There is a backlog in the publication of audited accounts and audit letters of local authorities. This is caused by increased audit requirements and subsequent capacity in audit companies. Therefore, we currently have a draft statement of accounts for the past three years.
