Invite the Mayor to an event
Anyone inside or outside the Borough of Broxbourne can invite the Mayor to an event. Invitations are generally accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. However, preference is given to events taking place in the Borough. Please ensure your invitation is made as early as possible to ensure the Mayor is available.
The Mayor helps to raise the profile of local groups, charities and voluntary organisations, as well as local businesses. The type of event the Mayor attends includes:
- civic and community events
- fundraising events for local charities
- launch events for local businesses and community groups
- visits to local community groups and schools
- hosting receptions for visiting dignitaries and other community leaders
If the Mayor is unable to attend, the Deputy Mayor will be asked to go as the Mayor’s representative.
